The 28th annual Girls’ Haven Gumbo Festival is set for Saturday, Feb. 11, at Classic Southeast Texas from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Cooks from around the area will compete with their best dishes all while raising money for Girls’ Haven.

Free to attend, enjoy delicious gumbo, carnival and live music from the Kaiser Brothers, Longneck Road, The Mud Flats, Bill Brooks Band and Smokin’ Joe & The True-Tones.

All proceeds will go directly back into helping Girls’ Haven and their mission to provide young girls with positive guidance and a loving home. The girls range from 6-22 years of age and are in Girls’ Haven’s care ranging from a few weeks to several years.

These girls have fallen victim to homelessness, physical and sexual abuse, or family dysfunction. Not only does Girls’ Haven offer a safe place to call home, but also provides educational resources for the girls to excel academically while in Girls’ Haven’s care.

Classic Southeast Texas is located 3855 Eastex Freeway in Beaumont. For more information, call (409) 832-6223.
