Hardin County Judge Wayne McDaniel removed all restrictions in the SETROC COVID-19 Vaccination Portal on Feb. 27 due to “extremely low appointments” by those in the 1A/1B priority groups.

“Last week, we were trying to vaccinate 300 people per day, but only 62 people came Wednesday, and 187 on Thursday,” said McDaniel. “So, Friday, I requested that the system administrator modify the guidelines in the portal so that if anyone selected the Lumberton vaccine site, the questions that would qualify or disqualify them according to the 1A/1B groups would disappear, and the person could schedule their appointment without delay. This quickly booked up all remaining appointments for Friday and Saturday, and many people who have been waiting for a while were finally able to get the vaccine.”

McDaniel stated that other jurisdictions are now doing the same in order to ensure people are getting the vaccine, and it's not sitting in the freezer any longer than necessary.

"While the concentrate to vaccinate those 65 and older is still a priority, the qualification questions for any vaccine clinic in Hardin County are gone and anyone can make their own appointment," he added.

There is a call center to assist with registering people in the SETROC portal who want to schedule an appointment if you are registered for the vaccine in the Hardin County database (you would have had to select ‘Hardin County’ as the location when you registered, or you can login to your profile and change your location to ‘Hardin County’).

The call center number is (409) 550-2536 (option #4 for Hardin County). Center hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
