Hardin County ESD No. 5 receives training aids

Hardin County Emergency Services District (ESD) No. 5 received a $10,000 grant that allowed for the purchase of a Dell computer, training videos and mannequin. 
The training aids grant was provided by the Texas A&M Forest Service Rural Volunteer Fire Department Assistance Program.
The department responds to numerous medical calls and the training aids will be valuable in providing members basic life support training. “We already had a training session with the department and the firefighters loved it,” said Hardin County ESD No. 5 Administrator Bill Lambert.

As a member agency of the Texas A&M University System, Texas A&M Forest Service administers the Rural Volunteer Fire Department Assistance Program and is committed to protecting lives, property and
natural resources. 
The Rural Volunteer Fire Department Assistance Program is funded by the Texas Legislature and provides cost-share funding to rural volunteer fire departments for the acquisition of firefighting vehicles, fire and rescue equipment, protective clothing, dry hydrants, computer systems and firefighter training.
