Three Hardin County residents were arrested by Tyler County Sheriff’s Office deputies recently, according to Tyler County Sheriff Bryan Weatherford.

Sept. 3, Israel Compoz, 27, of Kountze, was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and unlawful possession of a firearm. He is a convicted felon and bond was set at $36,500.

TCSO received a 911 call about an individual inside a truck, displaying a handgun and pointing it towards the caller while stopped at the intersection of U.S. 69 and FM 1013. The caller also advised dispatch the truck was traveling north of U.S. 69 at a high rate of speed, passing vehicles on the shoulder and had no license plate.

TCSO deputies and Woodville police officers located the suspect’s vehicle in Woodville. He admitted pointing the handgun in a road-rage incident on U.S. 69, south of Warren.

James Burnett, 43, of Silsbee, was arrested Sept. 6 and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and felony tampering with physical evidence. Justice of the Peace Trisher Ford set his bond at $8,000.

TCSO deputies were on patrol in the Fred community and stopped a car for a traffic violation on FM 1943 East at County Road 4880. They found a clear glass “meth pipe” containing a crystal-like substance, believed to be meth and  a plastic bag containing meth. The suspect threw the pipe from his vehicle during the search.
