Hardin County residents named to Dean's List, earn degrees

Dean’s List 
Four Hardin County residents were named to the Dean’s List at their respected colleges.
Christina Hawkins of Kountze was named to the Dean's List for the 2022 Spring semester at Angelo State University. She is majoring in music. To be eligible for the ASU Dean's List, full-time undergraduate students must maintain at least a 3.25 grade point average (GPA) on a 4.0 scale.
Jenna Moore of Kountze qualified for the Spring 2022 Dean's List at Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn. Eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.
Mackenzy Labrie of Lumberton was honored for academic achievement by being named to the Dean's List at Delaware Valley University for the Spring 2022 semester. Delaware Valley University is located in Doylestown, Penn.
Grace Buxton-Netterville of Lumberton was named to the Dean’s List for Spring 2022 at Berea College in Berea, Ky. Students named to the Dean’s List must achieve a 3.4 or higher grade-point average while passing at least four total credits, a course load equal to 16 semester hours.

Graduating college
Two Lumberton residents recently received college degrees.
Monica Bates of Lumberton earned her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. She was one among more than 5,900 students who was awarded degrees during the spring commencement.
Kage Hall of Lumberton was one of more than 700 students who received diplomas and was recognized as Harding University graduates for Spring 2022 during a commencement ceremony on May 7 in Searcy, Ark. Hall received a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering.

Associate degree
Brittany Bawcom of Lumberton graduated with an Associates in Art degree in General Studies from South Plains College in Levelland. Bawcom was among more than 1,300 students who are being recognized for their academic achievement.
