Mark Andrew Fertitta was unmasked March 30 as King Neches LXXIV at the Event Centre in downtown Beaumont. A lifelong resident of Beaumont, Fertitta currently develops and manages retail power centers, industrial warehouses, office buildings and medical facilities in Texas, Mississippi, Kansas and South Carolina.
As a youngster, Fertitta attended St. Anne’s and Marshall Middle School and graduated from Monsignor Kelly High School. He went on to attend Texas A&M, as well as Lamar University, where he graduated.

Fertitta’s involvement in his community includes serving as the former Apartment Association of Southeast Texas; Monsignor Kelly Foundation Board Member; member of Saint Jude’s Thaddeus Catholic Church; a member of the ACT’s Brotherhood and currently serves on the board of CommunityBank of Texas. Fertitta also serves on the Advisory, Foundation and Regional Board of Christus Health Systems and is extremely proud of his Italian heritage and the contributions his Italian family and friends have made to the Southeast Texas community.

Fertitta and his wife Carolyn have two children – daughter Katherine and son Michael – along with one grandchild, Grayson.

Upcoming Neches River Festival events include NRF River Day on Saturday, April 2; Street Party and Parade on Crockett Street on Friday, April 8, at 5 p.m.; and and Coronation and Ball (Julie Rogers Theatre and Beaumont Civic Center) on Saturday, April 9, at 6 p.m.
