Bishop Curtis Guillory, SVD, announced Monday, March 30, that Dr. Teresa Shaffer is the new principal for Msgr. Kelly Catholic High School in Beaumont.

“In reviewing her many accomplishments during our search,” Bishop Guillory said, “I have discovered that her leadership is by inspiration and impact.”

Dr. Shaffer brings more than 20 years of experience in education in Catholic education and public education, from first grade through the college level. Most recently she served as the Director of Student Services for the Hemphill Independent School District.

Shaffer said she felt blessed to be able to join the outstanding faculty and staff at Kelly High School. She added that through the interview process she met board members and alumni on the search committee and could clearly see their passion and love of the school.

“It made me excited to be part of the Kelly experience,” she said.

Shaffer has a bachelor’s degree from the University of New Orleans, a master’s from the University of St. Thomas. She received her doctorate in curriculum and instruction from Texas A&M University.
