Lumberton ISD recently announced they are hosting the first-ever School Safety and Security Summit for Texas on June 7, 2023, according to district officials.

Mary Johnson, Director of Communications and Community Relations, said the unique event will feature presenters, speakers, security vendors and other experts as they discuss how to keep staff and students safe in schools.

Admission will be free and all superintendents, campus administrators, counselors, law enforcement officials, elected officials, first responders and mental health professionals are encouraged to attend.

The district will put out a call for presentations in January 2023 and expects dozens of top-quality proposals to be submitted. Any school district or safety experts are encouraged to submit proposals for presentations.

She said the event will showcase the district’s Performing Arts Center (PAC) Storm Dome and the new CTE Center.
