LPD: Two men arrested on sex crimes

Two men remain in jail after they were arrested for sex crimes, according to the Lumberton Police Department.

Tyler Morgan Wilson, 32, of Lumberton, was arrested Aug. 9 and booked in the Hardin County Jail where he remains. He was charged with sexual abuse of child continuous (victim under age 14) and aggravated sexual assault, both first-degree felonies; and indecency with child with sexual contact, a second-degree felony.

His bail was set at $2.1 million.

Also, Michael Anthony Best, 24, was arrested Aug. 9 and charged with sexual assault of a child, a second-degree felony. He remains in the Hardin County Jail under a $75,000 bond.

Aug. 12, Micah Dee Esclovon, 43, of Lumberton, was arrested for manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance (Penalty Group 1, 4-200 grams) – a first-degree felony.

David Henry Mahan, 68, was arrested for aggravated assault, a first-degree felony, and resisting arrest, a Class A misdemeanor. He remains in jail under a $50,000 bond. Four other people were arrested on misdemeanor charges.

Arrested for assault, a Class A misdemeanor, were Jack Travis Lovelady, 22, of Lumberton, on Aug. 11 and Sean Austin Clifford, 28, on Aug. 15.

Aug. 9, James Jay Fleming, 46, of Lumberton, was arrested for possession of marijuana (Class B) and Bobby Joe Mercer, 18, was arrested Aug. 14 for cruelty to non-livestock animals (Class A).

Carolos, Hernandez-Ferrer, 35, was arrested for public intoxication (Class C) on Aug. 15.
