Lumberton ISD announces incentives for employees

The Lumberton ISD announced a one-time employee retention payment as inducement to return to the district, according to a press release from the district. 
Full funding for this payment is generated from our ESSER III grant.
“Retention of our employees is essential to ensuring student success. The District takes pride in recognizing our employees that continue to serve our students year after year,” stated district officials.
“Our staff members have worked extremely hard this year and we are pleased to offer this payment to them,” said Superintendent Dr. Tony Tipton. “We are also thankful that our Board of Trustees officially approved the payment last week. We are excited that so many employees have chosen to stay with the district into next school year.”
All LISD full-time employees must complete contract and/or required work days for the 2021-22 spring semester and for the Fall 22-23 semester to become eligible for this one-time $1,200 payment this December.
Payments will be distributed separately from December paychecks via direct deposit. It will not be subject to Teachers Retirement System of Texas withholdings, however federal withholding taxes will be applied. Direct deposits will be effective Dec. 19 and will post according financial institutions.
