After punching and “possibly” breaking the nose of a 19-year-old emergency room technician, a Jefferson County grand jury indicted a 20-year-old Port Arthur man for assaulting EMS personnel providing services – a third-degree felony.

A Jefferson County grand jury indicted Mark Allen Davis for assaulting an emergency room technician who was providing services.

According to the probable cause affidavit, officers arrived at the Southeast Texas Medical Center on Jimmy Johnson Blvd. in reference to an assault, where Davis allegedly assaulted a 19-year-old ER technician.

“I was then guided toward the room which Davis was in,” wrote Officer J. Alvarado. “I observed Davis (lying) on the bed and he showed several signs of being under the influence of an unknown substance.

“I also observed there was fresh blood near his person.”

Alvarado then placed Davis under arrest before escorting the man to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility. As of press time, Davis’ name did not appear on the Jefferson County inmate roster. To read the full probable cause affidavit, find this story online at theexaminer.com.
