After finding a kilo of cocaine on a speeding motorist Sept. 16, Port Arthur Police Department (PAPD) officers – during a follow-up investigation – found another kilo of the illicit substance at a residence, along with $44,000 in cash, an accessory-rife rifle and one gold-plated handgun.

According to a news release penned by PAPD Detective Sadie Guedry, officers arrested Bridge City resident Humbeto Anteverde, 29, for manufacturing or delivering a controlled substance.

After finding a kilo of cocaine on Anteverde in Port Arthur, PAPD investigated two homes, one in Port Arthur and another in Bridge City. Police recovered the cash and rifle at the Port Arthur residence, along with the second kilo of cocaine. Police recovered a gold-plated pistol at a Bridge City residence, according to the news release.

The charge is punishable by 15 years to 99 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000, according to Texas law. As of Sept. 20, Anteverde was not listed on the Jefferson County inmate roster.
