Two Beaumont ISD middle schools are empowering students for their roles as the leasers of tomorrow, showing off their abilities in October at their campuses.

Marshall Middle School developed the Marshall Girls Society Club, billed as an inclusive organization to uplift their young women, according to Beaumont ISD.

“Our purpose is to make every girl, no matter the specifics, feel as if they can take on the world by storm,” said sponsor Raven Nobles. “This club is open to everyone and we invite everyone to join.”

The group plans to participate in local community service projects and meets regularly to build fellowship and support among the members, according to the district.

“I think it’s important for an empowerment group because it’s so easy to feel like you’re not a part of something, especially at this middle school age,” said Nobles. “I want my girls to feel great about themselves and their lives, and know that anything is possible.”

Scholars, teachers and families of Smith Middle School showed leadership in action through community service on Oct. 1. Members of the Smith community have adopted the streets around their school, allowing Buffalo Nation to give back to their community and demonstrate character-building and leadership in action by working together to clean up the neighborhood.
