Jan. 22, in honor of National School Choice Week, Bob Hope School organized a special event “to commemorate our school’s achievements and express our gratitude to our incredible community partners.”

Several community partners were recognized as “Charter Champions” during the event, and guests heard from former NASA astronaut Jose M. Hernandez, renowned author of the inspiring book turned into the blockbuster film “A Million Miles Away.”

Hernandez addressed students and parents while in town, as well, sharing a message of “reaching for the stars.”

During the event, Ruthie Robinson came out as the raffle winner of a “Beaumont Boys’ Bash Autographed Guitar;” the raffle raised $1,600 for the high school music program.
