Orange County will not be issuing a disaster declaration at this time, says Judge John Gothia.

With neighboring Jefferson County issuing a declaration this afternoon, effectively canceling major events taking place in the county, Gothia said, "We don't have any events we need to control at this stage. We are at a wait-and-see status unless we see a case pop up in this county."

The county will continue to monitor the situation and should the need arise, Gothia said, "(A declaration is) prepared and ready to go should we need it."
