Organizers of the UK’s Ugliest Dog contest are now opening up the title to take over planet Earth.

ParrotPrint.com, who awarded Peggy of the UK with the Ugliest Dog title and crown last year, are considering a world-wide launch of the ugly dog competition to see if any canine can be as bad looking as the UK winner, according to Motive PR’s Issy Wood, who reached out to The Examiner in Beaumont to announce the pending search. According to Wood’s recap, Peggy, a four year old “cross breed,” was bestowed a bevy of prizes befitting a pup that is just as beautiful on the inside as she is “unique” on the outside including a pamper session at a luxury doggie spa, TV chat show appearances and, of course, a glam crown and roses.

The ParrotPrint.com spokesperson said there’s really only one rule: no pretty dogs: “I cannot state seriously enough that we don’t want to see pictures of good looking, cute dogs.

“But, if you honestly believe that your pet could be the ugliest in your nation, then please do send us a photo so we can judge for ourselves. We want to see pictures of dogs so ugly they make your eyes hurt when you look at them. Pretty pets need not apply.”

To enter, send contestant photos – along with the name, age and breed – to uglydog@parrotprint.com. Don’t forget to mention where you’re from. To find out more, visit https://parrotprint.com/us/uglydogcompetition.
