PAPD arrests game room robber

At about 10:30 a.m., Port Arthur police officers responded to a robbery that just occurred at Golden Coin Game Room on Gulfway Drive, according to a news release.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a black male, identified as 65-year-old Michael Raney Charles, armed with a handgun entered the business and demanded money from a person. At approximately noon the same day, officers located the suspect within a short distance of the game room and took him into custody without incident.

Charles was booked on aggravated robbery charges and outstanding warrants. This incident is currently under investigation by the
Criminal Investigations Division of PAPD.
