PAPD identifies man slain in home invasion

Police have identified the Port Arthur man who was shot and killed in his home at Valley View Apartments on Twin City Highway April 15.

Jaylon Howard, 26, of Port Arthur was shot during a home invasion sometime before 10:30 p.m., when PAPD officers were dispatched to the apartment complex.

Upon arrival, officers located Howard with a gunshot wound to the upper portion of his body, he was pronounced dead at the scene. A witness advised several subjects forced entry into the home, wearing masks and armed with guns. The incident is under investigation.
