After being escorted out of Beaumont’s Sawdust Saloon and being asked to leave, a 50-year-old Groves man pulled a gun from his vehicle and opened fire on the employees, saying he would “kill them all.”

In reference to reports of shots fired at about 2 a.m. Sug. 21, Beaumont police responded to 4680 Fannett Rd., where they arrested Lonnie Cormier, 50, of Groves, after he allegedly shot at several saloon employees.

After employees escorted Cormier from the bar and asked the man to leave, the patron pulled a gun from his vehicle and told them he would kill them all.

“Cormier fired several rounds from inside his truck, exited his vehicle, and fired several more rounds,” officers reported. “Cormier was placed under arrest for four counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Cormier had a female passenger, and she was arrested for public intoxication. They were both transported and booked into Jefferson County Correctional Facility.”

As of press time, Cormier was no longer listed on the Jefferson County inmate roster.
