The city of Port Arthur Finance Department in conjunction with the Port Arthur Convention and Visitors Bureau is holding the city's first-ever Budget Book Photo Op contest. The contest ends at noon April 30.
The Finance Department is looking for pictures that artistically represent the culture in Port Arthur. Participation does not preclude applicants from using their photograph for other contests.
The sponsor, the Port Arthur Convention and Visitors Bureau, the first-place winner will receive a $100 gift card, the second-place winner will receive a $50 gift card and the third-place winner will receive a $25 gift card. The first-place winner will also have their picture placed on the cover of the city's next annual budget book.
The winners will be announced at the July 2 City Council meeting.
The guidelines for submitting pictures are:
• You must be 18 years of age or older to win
• Submitted picture(s) must have been taken within the last year
• Submitted picture(s) must be an original picture taken by the submitter
• Submitted picture(s) must be in a .jpeg or. jpg format
• Submitted picture(s) must have been taken within Port Arthur city limits
• Entries must be submitted through the correct form at https://www.portarthurtx.gov/FormCenter/Entry-Forms-40/Picture-Port-Arthur-Budget-Book-Photo-Op-148.
• Submitted picture(s) must have descriptions of the image. Make description no less than one sentence and no more than four sentences
• Applicants can submit up to two pictures
By submitting pictures for entry, the applicant grants permission to the city to use the photographs(s) in city publications, news releases, online media and other forms of communications.
By submitting pictures for entry, the applicant acknowledges and grants the city the right to use submitted photo(s) for publishing, illustration, advertising, marketing, or for any other use in any medium for any purpose. The applicant acknowledges that photo credit is not guaranteed for all uses of image. The applicant holds the city harmless from any and all liability that might arise from foregoing use.
The applicant's entry signifies that they will abide by all rules if their photo is selected, and acknowledgement of the terms and conditions given above.
