Sept. 26, the Press Club of Southeast Texas officially presented the Lamar University Foundation with a $12,000 check to benefit the Lamar University Department of Communication and Media student scholarship recipient endowment. This year’s scholarship recipient, Mattie Hamilton, was awarded in excess of $10,000.

Accepting the donation were Joanne Brown, LU Major Gifts Officer; Hamilton; Dr. Golden Wright, Interim Chair for LU College of Fine Arts & Communication; and Jeff Spoeri, AVP of University Advancement. Andy Coughlan, Press Club President, and Jennifer Johnson, Press Club VP of Finance, presented the funds on behalf of the Press Club.
