Provost Umphrey Law Firm and the Union Sportsmen Alliance (USA) are partnering up to bring a sporting clays shoot and free youth outdoors day to Southeast Texas.

The two-day event will kick off Saturday, April 24, with the USA’s Inaugural Provost Umphrey Texas State Sporting Clays Shoot. Registration for the clays shoot will take place on the day of the shoot from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. Registration includes lunch and drinks, 12- or 20-gauge shotgun shells and clay targets. There will also be awards, door prizes and premium drawings. You can register your team at https://unionsportsmen.org/event/usas-provost-umphreys-texas-sporting-clays-shoot/.

The following day, Sunday, April 25, children ages 9 to 15 are invited to participate in the free and open to the public Inaugural Provost Umphrey “Get Youth Outdoors” Day from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The registration deadline for this free event is Monday, April 22. Register at https://gyodtx2021.eventbrite.com. At the event, local union volunteers trained in firearms safety will provide hands-on introduction in sporting clays shooting and archery. Youth will also get the chance to practice casting a line. Equipment and a complimentary picnic lunch will be provided to participants. All participants must be accompanied by an adult.

Both events will take place at the One in One Hundred Gun Club located at 1228 FM 421 road in Lumberton. The events will benefit USA's mission of preserving America’s outdoor heritage.

“The USA’s mission of conservation is important to preserving our outdoor culture,” said Joe Fisher, Provost Umphrey managing partner. “We hope with providing these opportunities, the USA will be able to share their mission with Southeast Texas and get everyone outside for some fresh air.”
