Officers found 260 grams on the group of four
Body

After stopping a group of travelers in a car that emitted a “strong” odor of marijuana, Port Arthur Police Department (PAPD) officers found 260 grams of methamphetamine and arrested four suspects.

According to a PAPD report released June 10, at about 3:30 a.m. on May 31, officers arrested Rafael Ceja Torres, 23; Edgar Briones, 26; Carli Milligan, 27; and Lauren Sanders, 27; and charged the individuals with possession of a controlled substance, a first-degree felony.

Officers reportedly observed a vehicle traveling without operating tail lights in the 1500 block of 8th Avenue, so they initiated a traffic stop

“As officers approached the vehicle, a strong odor of marijuana could be smelled coming from inside,” PAPD wrote. “The occupants were removed, and a search of the vehicle was performed. Located inside were two clear plastic baggies containing a clear crystal-like rock substance suspected to be methamphetamine. Also found were two small scales used to measure weight, several tiny clear plastic baggies and two glass pipes with residue.”

As of press time, none of the four suspects appeared on the Jefferson County inmate roster.
