Search suspended for man missing from boat

A search for a man who went missing from a tugboat in the Gulf Coast near Sabine Pass was suspended Feb. 7.

The U.S. Coast Guard reported the search covered 206 square miles in a 23-hour period. The 35-year-old man was on the Smith Invader Tug vessel, last seen at 10 p.m. Feb. 5 and noted missing at 6 a.m. Feb. 6.

He was wearing a white shirt and black pants, and was last seen about a nautical mile off the McFaddin National Wildlife Refuge

Search and rescue operations were conducted by U.S. Coast Guard Sector Houston-Galveston, U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Houston, Coast Guard Station Sabine and Jefferson County officials.
