Stolen Beaumont truck recovered in Buna

After noting “suspicious” circumstances surrounding a truck and its occupants parked at a Buna Shell station June 3, Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) deputies identified the vehicle as one reportedly stolen from Beaumont.

Deputies learned from a concerned citizen that the occupants of the fleet-style Chevrolet 3500 were coming into the store attempting to purchase items, but their cards kept being declined. JCSO deputies found that the Beaumont Police Department reported the truck stolen.

JCSO recovered the vehicle, and deputies arrested a 42-year-old man out of Silsbee for theft of property between $2,500 and $30,000.
