A 34-year-old Frisco woman died March 28 after losing control of her 18-wheeler on I-10, crossing the concrete barrier and crashing into a tree, according to a news release.

At around 3 a.m., Beaumont police responded to the 1000 block of I-10, westbound in reference to a "major" crash involving one vehicle. An 18-wheeler pulling a trailer lost control and struck the concrete barrier along the shoulder of the highway. The semi-truck went over the barrier and struck a tree.

The driver, identified as Kristen Humphries, was transported to a local hospital, where she died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. Next of kin has been notified, and the investigation is on-going.
