TWIA to again talk rates

The Texas Windstorm Insurance Association (TWIA) Board of Directors will hold a public workshop meeting via Zoom to study issues related to rates on Wednesday, April 21, at 1 pm.

No action on a rate filing will be taken at the workshop meeting. The Board may direct staff to gather additional information for Board consideration and action at a later time. The Board is expected to discuss a wide range of issues related to rates including rate standards and external factors affecting rates.

The Board has invited the members of TWIA’s Actuarial & Underwriting Committee, the association’s reinsurance broker and catastrophe modeling firms to attend the meeting. Members of the public are invited to view the meeting online and to provide public comment and may submit written comments via email at PublicComment@TWIA.org by noon on Monday, April 19.

Members of the public may also provide verbal comments to the TWIA Board during the designated public comment portion of the meeting. Those wishing to make public comment during the meeting must register and log into the meeting via Zoom on a computer, tablet, smartphone, or telephone. The meeting will also be livestreamed via YouTube, and an archived recording of the meeting will be available on TWIA’s website after the meeting at www.twia.org.
