A 36-year-old Port Arthur resident was arrested for an outstanding warrant after a joint effort by Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) deputies, Port Arthur Independent School District (PAISD) officers, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO), Port Arthur police, Beaumont police and the U.S. Marshals.

Darius Stevenson, 36, had an outstanding felony warrant for possession of a weapon in a prohibited place filed by PAISD officers, according to a news release from JCSO.

Stevenson, who officers reportedly know for his violent tendencies, was arrested in the Walmart parking lot in the 4900 block of Twin City Highway in Groves.

He was booked into the Jefferson County Correctional Facility, and his bond was set at $500,000.
