Monday, April 5, Hardin County Judge Wayne McDaniel expressed that low turnout for those wanting vaccination necessitated opening up a clinic for walk-ups.

“Due to a low number of appointments being made for the COVID-19 vaccine in Lumberton (on April 5), Hardin County Health Department will be accepting walk-ins for the Moderna vaccine … of anyone 18 years of age or older,” McDaniel expressed. “Those with appointments will be seen first, and walk-ins will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis, with priority given to those age 65-plus.”

According to McDaniel, the vaccination will occur at Journey Community Church, 1534 Highway 96 South in Lumberton, from 1 – 4 p.m.

“This is not limited to Hardin County residents only,” McDaniel advised, also recommending patients arrive with photo ID and health insurance cards, if available. “Anyone age 18-plus is welcome.”
