Saturday, October 22, 2016 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Beaumont Police Department will partner with Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for the twelfth opportunity in six years to prevent pill abuse and theft. You can rid your homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs.

This event will take place at Rodgers Park, 1455 Dowlen Road, Beaumont, Texas 77706. The DEA cannot accept liquids or needles.

In conjunction with National School Bus Safety Week (Oct. 17-21), the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is urging drivers to comply with laws prohibiting the passing of school buses. During this period, DPS Highway Patrol troopers will be watching for drivers who violate the law and taking the appropriate enforcement action. It is illegal to pass any school bus that is stopped and operating a visual signal – either flashing red lights or a stop sign.
