Nigel Tranter, plant manager for Total Petrochemicals and Refining USA, Inc. Port Arthur Refinery has announced that he will take a new assignment in Paris and that Bryan Canfield, who previously worked at Total’s sites in Port Arthur, Dallas, and Big Spring from 1990 to 1999 and from 2002 to 2004 in Houston, will assume the position upon Tranter’s departure.

Effective today, Tuesday, December 15, 2015, the 500 block of Lou from Sarah Street to Lela Street will be closed until further notice.

At approximately 7:44 a.m. Tuesday morning, December 15, 2015, Beaumont police officers responded to a collision that occurred in the 9200 block of College Street.

According to a Beaumont Police Department spokesperson, the collision involved a white 2010 Jeep and a red 1995 Acura. Both vehicles had to be towed, and one person was transported to St. Elizabeth hospital with unknown injuries. There are no more details to be released at this time, as the police department is awaiting the crash report.
