Beaumont Fire and Rescue

At approximately 1 a.m., Oct. 14, Beaumont Fire Rescue units responded to a reported structure fire at 4080 Ector. According to a press release, when Firefighters arrived, they found the kitchen of the home on fire. Firefighters were able to contain the fire damage to the kitchen area but there was smoke damage throughout the house.


The City of Vidor continues its efforts to collect a decade's worth of outstanding fines owed to the city. This week, police are asking for assistance in locating the following persons owing more than $1000 in fines to the city:

1. Raymond Dale Jordan, W/M, Age 56, 3 traffic warrants totaling $1,133.00

2. Michael Allen Johnson, W/M, age 34, 4 traffic warrants totaling $1,033.00

3. Courtney Lynn Johnson, W/F, age 28, 3 traffic warrant totaling $1,108.00


Update: Melissa Ringhardt, the babysitter on duty at the time of 5-year-old Vidor resident John “Johnny” Read’s accidental shooting death in October 2013, was located and arrested by deputies of the Pope County Sheriff’s Department in Russellville, Arkansas on Oct. 2, according to a news release from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

Traffic alert from TxDOT:

SH 105 in West Hardin County has been closed in both directions in front of West Hardin High School after an 18-wheeler overturned and spilled drilling mud on the roadway. Clean up crews are in route and officials estimate the highway will remain closed at least 3 hours.
