Henderson hits 1,000; local basketball milestones

Sophomore Mitchell Henderson reached a milestone in his second season at Legacy Christian Academy. Mitchell scored his 1,000th career point in a 67-11 over Grace Christian Academy on Jan. 23. It was the fourth time this has been achieved in the basketball program. It was previously done by Jon Cregor, Alexis Morris and R.J. Jackson.

Coach Eric Girola of the Orangefield Lady Bobcats won his 300th career game Jan. 16. The Lady Bobcats defeated Kountze, 47-32, and were led by Greenlea Oldham, who had a stellar night with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Silsbee senior Dre’lon Miller scored his 2,000th point in the Tigers’ 75-56 win at LCM on Jan. 19. Miller is fourth on the all-time scoring list for boys’ basketball at Silsbee High School, which is led by Braelon Bush (3,010), current senior Jared Harris (2,306) and Darrell McArthur (2,237, 1982-86).
