Kenli Smith wins breakaway roping title

Hardin-Jefferson senior Kenli Smith was crowned the 2024 Breakaway Roping Champion at the American Rodeo Contender Tournament East regional semifinals on Jan. 25-27 in Lexington, Kentucky. After finishing sixth in the opening round, Smith advanced to the finals and earned first place along with a $10,000 payout. The top five in each category advances to the national finals held Feb. 10 in Abilene.
