Morgan shines at UIL swim meet

Lumberton High School freshman Jayde Morgan placed second in the Class 4A girls 100-yard breaststroke at the UIL Swimming and Diving State Championships on Feb. 15-16 in San Antonio.

Morgan, who is also the school’s first swimmer to medal, finished seventh in the 500-yard girls freestyle.

Bella Cardenas, of Hamshire-Fannett was fifth in the girls 200-yard freestyle and sixth in the girls 100-yard freestyle.
