The Southeast Texas Coaches Association hosted the eighth annual Christus All-Star Classic last week at various high schools throughout the area.

Soccer kicked off the week June 13 at Hardin-Jefferson High School. In the girls’ game, East defeated the West 5-2 and Ashlyn Neireiter of West Brook was named the East MVP. The West defeated the East in boys’ action. After a 2-2 draw, the West outscored the East 4-1 in a shootout. Andreas Sandoval of PN-G was named East MVP.

The West defeated the East, 13-3, in softball June 14 at Barbers Hill High School. T’era Garrett was named the East MVP.

Immediately after the softball game, the West blanked the East squad in baseball, 8-0. Jasper’s Heath Pantoja was named MVP for the East squad.

The West continued its domination June 15 at Lumberton High School with a 3-1 win in volleyball. Taryn Doiron of Bridge City was the East MVP.

Both West squads also won in basketball with West downing East, 49-42, on the girls’ side and West edging out East, 70-67, in boys’ basketball. MVPs for the East were Jacei Denley of West Brook and Trealyn Porchia of Beaumont United.
