Jefferson County Criminal District Attorney Bob Wortham announced May 23 in a release that Joe Mitchell Carry Jr., 36, of Beaumont was sentenced to 20 years in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for the May 2, 2015, aggravated assault of a Beaumont couple.

Police in Orange have arrested a suspect in the March 8 shooting of 24-year-old Centarius Chavis, reports the Orange Police Department.

According to a news release from OPD, police arrested 23-year-old O'shaquie Foster, aka O’shanique Foster, of Orange, for aggravated assault March 9 following the issuance of a warrant for his arrest.

Police in Orange are following up on leads and searching for a suspect in a shooting that injured a local man, reports Captain Robert Enmon of the Orange Police Department (OPD).

On Feb. 9, at about 2:50 p.m., Beaumont Police received several calls about the driver of a white vehicle, traveling westbound in the 6500 block of College, pointing a rifle at other motorists. One of the victims was able to provide a license plate of the suspect vehicle, BPD Officer Haley Morrow said in a release.

Police in Beaumont arrested a 20-year-old Port Arthur man for murder in relation to a shooting incident that left one man dead and another shot in the face on Jan. 17, the Beaumont Police Department reports.

Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 6:27 p.m., officers responded to The Anchor Church, at 6655 Highway 105, in reference to a male who stated he’d been shot in the face, Officer Carol Riley reported.

The subject, a 26-year-old Port Arthur man, had what appeared to be a single, small-caliber gunshot wound to his face. He told officers he was at theapartments on Alpine Circle when the incident occurred. He was transported by Beaumont EMS to St. Elizabeth's Hospital.
