Firefighters in Beaumont battled a residential blaze on July 31 that was apparently the result of arson, Beaumont Fire Resuce reports.

According to a news release, shortly after 1:00 a.m., Beaumont Fire Rescue suppression units responded to the report of a structure fire at in the 900 block of Avenue B. When firefighters arrived, they found a residential structure with fire in one exterior wall and spreading to the attic.

Police in Orange are investigating yet another incident at the Best Price Motel at 2610 Interstate 10 West. This time, a guest at the motel was arrested for lighting a pile of clothes on fire in one of the rooms.

Beaumont fire investigators are currently looking into a fire on Youngstown Street in Beaumont that they say could be the result of arson.

Investigators with the Beaumont Fire Department suspect arson as the cause of a fire that caused extensive damage to the garage of a home in the 2300 block of Gladys Street in Beaumont during the evening of Saturday, Jan. 25.

A fire broke out at an abandoned building, formerly Hadley's Furniture warehouse, at the corner of McFaddin Avenue and Forrest Street in Beaumont around 11:15 p.m. Wednesday night, Sept. 18. 

Beaumont Fire Captain Earl White, who is investigating the incident, confirmed the fire was started deliberately.

Oct. 24 at approximately 11:03 p.m., the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office along with the Bevil Oaks VFD, Sour Lake VFD and China VFD responded to residential fire at 5229 Alford Oaks just off Tram Road in Beaumont.
