Firefighters in Beaumont battled two blazes in two days at two separate residences, one vacant and one occupied, Beaumont Fire-Rescue reports.

Structure fire at 3880 E. Lynwood

Shortly after 6 a.m. Sunday morning, Oct. 18, 2015, Beaumont Fire Rescue units responded to a structure fire at 3880 E. Lynwood near the intersection of Cleveland Street and Hayes Lane in Beaumont’s North End neighborhood. When firefighters arrived, they found the wood-frame home heavily involved by fire. Firefighters made a defensive attack due to the extent of the fire, and in more than 30 minutes it took to control the blaze, the home sustained extensive damage.

Friday, Oct. 16, 2015, at 9:30 a.m., Beaumont Fire Rescue responded to a report of a house fire at 2197 Rusk. According to Captain Brad Penisson, when firefighters arrived, they found a vacant duplex engulfed in flames. Firefighters were able to quickly control the blaze with no injuries, and it was determined the fire was deliberately set.

On Sunday, September 27, 2015, in the wee hours of the morning, Beaumont firefighters were dispatched to two separate fires that may have been related.

At 3:41 a.m., the Beaumont Fire Department received a report of a building on fire at 410 Winfield. While at this location, fire dispatchers received a 911 call reporting another fire at 1208 Gilbert. Other units were dispatched to this location and were able to bring the flames under control within a few minutes.

Investigators with the Orange Police and Fire Departments are investigating a Sept. 20 fire at a vacant residence on Decatur Avenue that they believe was the result of arson, OPD Captain Cliff Hargrave reports.

Police are investigating two separate incidents of arson related to motor vehicle fires, according to the Orange Police Department. Strangely, or maybe not so strangely, the first complainant who called to inform police his vehicle was aflame told officers he saw a car matching the description of the vehicle damaged in the second incident of reported arson.

Beaumont firefighters battled a blaze investigators are calling arson on Saturday, Nov. 8.

According to a news release from Beaumont Fire Rescue, firefighters responded to reports of a house in flames in the 2400 block of Durden Street in Beaumont. Firefighters were able to contain the fire within 20 minutes of arrival to the location. No one was injured as a result of the blaze.

Beaumont firefighters responded to an early morning structure fire at a vacant house on St. Helena Street on Aug. 6, and investigators reportedly believe it to have been the result of arson - the second apparently deliberately set fire reported within a week's time.

Firefighters in Beaumont battled a residential blaze on July 31 that was apparently the result of arson, Beaumont Fire Resuce reports.

According to a news release, shortly after 1:00 a.m., Beaumont Fire Rescue suppression units responded to the report of a structure fire at in the 900 block of Avenue B. When firefighters arrived, they found a residential structure with fire in one exterior wall and spreading to the attic.
