It was tight, but a cast of characters led the Lamar baseball team to a 7-6 win over New Mexico State in the 2015 season opener on Friday, Feb. 6, at Vincent-Beck Stadium, and more importantly, led Cardinal skipper Jim Gilligan to his 1,300th career win.

There is no doubt that there are still countless users of the obsolescent Windows XP, which is no longer supported by Microsoft. The successor to windows XP was Windows Vista, which was enormously unpopular with its users. Windows 7, with its several iterations, had some successes in the market place, effectively displacing Vista, but not winning over many of the huge base of XP users, except when the users purchased newer computers.

Lamar University invites students of all ages to a variety of summer camps to be held on campus this summer. Camps are offered for a variety of ages and interests with both daily and residential opportunities.

Lamar University Soccer Camp– There will be one session May 11, for girls, grades 8 -12. There will be two sessions, July 8-12 & July 22-26, for boys and girls ages 4-16.

The baseball season for athletes participating in Adaptive Sports for Kids (ASK) kicked off on a cold and windy Saturday, March 2, at Doornbos Park in Nederland. Parents and children from around the region gathered together to support their teams and watch the opening ceremonies on the field in spite of the blustery weather.
