On Monday, Jan. 8, at about 5:28 a.m., Beaumont Police responded to an apartment at 3030 French Road, in reference to an attempted burglary that had just occurred, Officer Haley Morrow said in a release.

In the early morning hours of Thursday, Jan. 4, Beaumont police responded to more than 30 auto burglaries in the city’s West End. In response, officers on the Midnight Patrol conducted numerous special attentions at apartment complexes and neighborhoods along Major Drive.

Port Arthur Police is asking for the public's help to identify a suspect in a Nov. 24 burglary at the Dollar General in Jefferson City.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Criminal Investigations Division at (409) 983-8624.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is still looking for the suspect that robbed the Cheek Grocery Store Dec. 9.

The Sheriff's Office is asking for the community's help in identifying the suspect, who is still at large.

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office detectives have obtained arrest warrants for two people in reference to a residential burglary that occurred Nov. 29, 2017, at 2665 N. Twin City Highway.

The burglary occurred between 8:30 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. while the resident was away from his home, but surveillance video from the Jakes Fireworks stand next door caught the burglary on video.  The time stamp was 10:03 a.m.

In the 1950s, carhops were the waiters or waitresses who brought food to patrons in their vehicles at Sonic-like establishments, sometimes on roller skates. Fifty years later, criminals have corrupted the term, using “car hopping” to describe a troublesome criminal trend.

On Friday, July 7, at about 1:07 a.m., Beaumont Police responded to K & K Designs located at 1315 Calder Avenue in reference to a burglar alarm, Officer Haley Morrow said in a release.

Port Neches Police Chief Paul Lemoine and Nederland Police Chief Darrell Bush are warning area residents to be on the lookout for a suspect burglarizing vehicles in Mid-county, targeting automobiles of people who have recently visited the bank or other financial institution.

According to a Chief Lemoine, area police departments worked several daytime auto burglaries over several days leading up to June 2. Lemoine and Bush both said "the common denominator" in the burglaries is that the victims had all just left their banks after withdrawing money.

May 30 at about 11:40 a.m., Beaumont police responded to a residence in the 4400 block of Ector Avenue in reference to a burglary in progress, in which the caller stated the suspect had a gun, Officer Haley Morrow said in a release.

As officers arrived, the suspect attempted to exit the house but retreated back inside. Additional police units established a perimeter around the residence. Several attempts to contact the suspect inside were made; however, they were unsuccessful.
