Nov. 1 around 11 a.m., narcotics detectives from the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office investigated a narcotics complaint in the 4300 block of Houston Street in Beaumont.

Detectives conducted surveillance in the area near a specific house. Detectives stopped a vehicle leaving the house for a traffic violation on Marie Street.

During the traffic stop, Detectives observed a semi auto handgun in the vehicle. The driver was identified as Willie Paul Rideaux, 38, of Beaumont. Rideaux is a convicted felon and prohibited by law to be in possession of a firearm.

A 30-year-old Beaumont man has been sentenced to federal prison for drug trafficking violations in the Eastern District of Texas, announced Acting U.S. Attorney Brit Featherston Sept. 29.

Kristopher George Ardoin was found guilty by a jury on Jan. 25 of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute 280 grams or more of crack cocaine and firearms conspiracy.  Ardoin was sentenced to serve life in federal prison today by U.S. District Judge Marcia A. Crone.

U.S. Attorney John Malcolm Bales announced May 9 that 11 Jefferson County men are in custody following a lengthy investigation into drug trafficking involving the distribution of crack cocaine in the Eastern District of Texas.

According to a news release from the U.S Attorney's office, a combined task force of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies began executing federal arrest warrants on May 6 for defendants indicted following a ten-month investigation into the distribution of crack cocaine in Beaumont.
