On Nov. 10, 2010, popular Southeast Texas rock act The Amorist packed up their gear for the last time when the played at the music venue The Hole in the Wall in Austin. On Saturday, Nov. 26, The Amorist returns to Beaumont for a night of rock ‘n roll and revelry at the Gig on Crockett Street with doors opening at 8 p.m. Tickets are just $5 and can be purchased at the door. The band split despite writing and recording their best music, and some six years later, it’s time to finish the job. Writing and recording was the only way they could make this reunion work.

Over a thousand bikers attended the Lace, Grace and Gears rally on Crockett Street the first weekend in October. The rally started on Friday, Sept. 30, and opened at 8 a.m. Their goal was to beat the world record for most women riders on motorcycles at one time, currently held by an Australian group of 1,002 riders.

Lace, Grace and Gears posted on its Facebook page Oct. 3 that the final count of 806 women and 62 bikes “was an amazing feat” and “watch out 2017!”

Rock bands from the surrounding areas are coming together for a cause at Jam Fest Against Cancer on Saturday, Sept. 24, at The Gig in downtown Beaumont on Crockett Street. Tickets are $8, and all proceeds will benefit the Gift of Life Program. Doors open at 2 p.m.

Crockett Street in downtown Beaumont will host the Big Texas Country Street Party on Saturday, Aug. 6, with gates opening at 7 p.m. Tickets for this 18-and-up event are $20 and can be purchased at the event and online out outhousetickets.com. Headlining the outdoor concert will be Cody Johnson with performances by William Clark Green and Sam Riggs. From Huntsville, Johnson is touring in support of his brand new album Gotta Be Me. His 2014 release, Cowboy Like Me, reached No. 7 on the Billboard country chart.

The Gig on Crockett Street just recently announced that ’80s rockers Great White will perform on Friday, July 22, at 8 p.m. Tickets for this 18-and-older show are $20. There are two versions of the ’80s rock act Great White touring, and this one includes 55-year-old vocalist Jack Russell.

The Gig on Crockett Street in downtown Beaumont will host Summer Jam III headlined by rockers Podunk, along with special guests Knuckle Deep, Peace and the Chaos, and Curse & The Cure on Friday, July 15. Doors open at 8 p.m. and tickets are $15 for ages 18 and older.

More than 430 Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School students, 100 faculty members and 40 parents volunteered helping hands to more than 35 local charities and nonprofit organizations during Kelly Springs Into Action Day on Friday, April 15.

Kelly High School, established in 1895, is a diocesan, coeducational high school in Beaumont that, according to its mission statement, offers “cultural diversity, spiritual and personal development, and a strong college preparation in a loving and nurturing environment.”

Known as a “three-piece thunderflash of rock excitement,” Beaumont’s own Purple returns home Friday, April 1, to perform at the Gig on Crockett Street. This will be a CD release concert promoting their forthcoming album, Bodacious.

Phoenix all female punk rockers Doll Skin will perform at The Gig on Crockett Street on Thursday, March 17, with doors opening at 8 p.m. Tickets for this 18-and-older show are $5 and can be purchased at the door. All in their teens, the band consists of vocalist Sydney Dolezal (16), guitarist Alex Snowden (16), bassist Nicole Rich (17) and drummer Meghan Shea Herring (19) under the guidance of Megadeth bassist David Ellefson. They are touring in support of their debut record, In Your Face.
