A 41-year-old Jackson, Georgia man has been indicted and charged with federal violations in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney Joseph D. Brown Sept. 6.

Oaka Donrez Adams was indicted by a federal grand jury on Sep. 5, and charged with possession with intent to distribute oxycodone.

A 45-year-old Kountze man was sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for child exploitation violations in the Eastern District of Texas, U.S. Attorney Joseph D. Brown announced Feb. 28.

John Edward Burns pleaded guilty on Aug. 16, 2017, to enticement of a minor to engage in sexual activity and was sentenced to 120 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Marcia Crone.

A 29-year-old Beaumont woman was sentenced to federal prison for drug trafficking violations in the Eastern District of Texas, U.S. Attorney Joseph D. Brown announced on Feb. 28.

Heather Nichole Lugo pleaded guilty on Oct. 11, 2016, to conspiracy to distribute, manufacture, and possess with intent to distribute crack cocaine and was sentenced to 70 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Marcia Crone.

Montreal Delaney, of New Orleans, pleaded guilty on June 1, 2016, to assaulting a federal officer and was subsequently sentenced to 33 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Ron Clark.

A 38-year-old federal inmate has been indicted for escaping from a Federal Correctional Complex in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney John M. Bales May 4.

James Ortega, of McKinney, Texas, was indicted by a federal grand jury on Apr. 6, 2016, and charged with escaping from federal custody. Ortega made an initial appearance and was arraigned before U.S. Magistrate Judge Zachary J. Hawthorn on May 3, 2016.

Three individuals, including two federal inmates, have been indicted in connection with an escape from a Federal Correctional Complex in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney John M. Bales May 5.

Todd Allen Hammer, 40, and Jason Wesley Tate, 44, both federal inmates housed in Beaumont, Texas, and Lorna Leslie, 55, of Sherman, Texas, were indicted by a federal grand jury on Apr. 4, 2016, and charged with escaping from federal custody and conspiracy to escape from federal custody.

Eighteen individuals have been arrested on federal violations in the Eastern District of Texas, U.S. Attorney John M. Bales announced in a news release on April 13.

According to the news release, on April 7 through April 8, a combined task force of federal, state and local law enforcement arrested 18 illegal aliens working under false identities at various refineries, industrial plants and shipyards in Jefferson, Galveston and Liberty counties.

A 32-year-old Orange, Texas man has been sentenced to federal prison for child pornography violations in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney John M. Bales Feb. 24.

Jason Ryan Bickham pleaded guilty on Sep. 17, 2014 to possession of child pornography and was sentenced to 120 months in federal prison Feb. 24 by U.S. District Judge Thad Heartfield.
