On Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at approximately 7:51 a.m., officers were dispatched to a major traffic accident in the 2700 block of Spur 136 in Port Neches. According to PNPD Chief of Police Paul Lemoine, upon officers' arrival it was determined that a 2015 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck was eastbound on Spur 136 and had crossed the center lane and struck a 2006 Ford tow truck that was traveling westbound on Spur 136. Update: The West Orange-Stark High School coach reportedly driving the vehicle that claimed the lives of 25-year-old Ava Lewis and six-year-old daughter Lamya Newhouse, Carl Broussard, 53, of Vinton, resigned from his position at the school, reports WO-S representatives. The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the vehicle involved in a fatal auto-pedestrian accident that claimed the life of an Orange resident Friday, Oct. 9.

In a news release, DPS Trooper Stephanie Davis reports 41-year-old Chad Eugene Shields of Orange was struck and killed by an unknown vehicle near mile marker 877 on eastbound Interstate 10 in Orange at about 12:40 a.m. Friday morning.

Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2015, at approximately 1 p.m., there was a one-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 at the Simmons Drive exit in Orange County.

According to a press release, a 2007 Chevrolet passenger vehicle was eastbound on Interstate 10. For an unknown reason, the driver of the Chevrolet took the Simmons Drive exit (mile marker 878) at a high rate of speed and lost control. The vehicle went down the exit ramp in a side skid, continued over a curb, and struck a metal beam.

A two-vehicle collision in Beaumont's west end on Friday, Sept. 18, 2015 resulted in the death of a Port Arthur resident.

According to a press release from the City of Beaumont, just before 11 p.m. Friday, Beaumont PD officers responded to a collision at the intersection of Major Drive and Highway 105. Upon arrival, it is reported two white Ford F-150 trucks were resting against the traffic light pole in the intersection.

UPDATED: A traffic collision at approximately 6:00 a.m. this morning on Friday, September 18, 2015 has resulted in at least one fatality. 

According to trooper Stephanie Davis, the two-vehicle crash on Highway 73 just west of FM 366 in Jefferson County occurred in the eastbound lanes of Highway 73 near the Taft Street exit.
