The third annual Drive Fore a Cure event held in late October raised more than $8,000 to benefit the American Cancer Society – a good take for a day on the greens, said event organizer Jefferson County District Clerk Jamie Smith.

The Lamar Lady Cardinals golf team fired a three-round score of 892 to win the 2015 Southland Conference title and earn the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals.

The Kelly Bulldogs boys’ golf team finished fourth at the TAPPS Regional Tournament on April 15 at the Gleannloch Pines Golf Club in Spring. With the finish, the team will play in the TAPPS State Golf Tournament on April 28-29 at Wildflower Country Club in Temple.

The Annual Girls' Haven Benefit Golf Tournament that will take place Monday, May 13, at the Beaumont Country Club from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Girls' Haven announced in a press release. Last year's event garnered $100,000 for the organization, and this year they hope to raise even more.
