The Museum of the Gulf Coast is opening its doors to Port Arthur third-graders throughout the months of October and December. In addition to touring the museum, each child will receive their very own dictionary, courtesy of the Rotary Club of Port Arthur and Motiva.
Police ultimately arrested a man who led them on chase through the city of Port Arthur as officers investigated a report that the man was repeatedly ramming the gates at the Motiva refinery with his car, reports Sgt. R. Rowe of the Port Arthur Police Department (PAPD).
Work stoppage will soon end at Motiva Enterprises refinery in Port Arthur after a vote by USW Local 13-423 to ratify a four-year contract offered by Shell Oil. HOUSTON — Shell Oil Co. and Motiva Enterprises LLC, which markets Shell gasoline and other products, have agreed to pay $4,470,764 in overtime back wages to 2,677 current and former chemical and refinery employees as a result of investigations by the U.S. Department of Labor that found violations of the Fair Labor Standards Act.
According to the Entergy Texas website, more than 6,000 local residents were without power Sunday, April 14, as were six refineries in the Port Arthur area including Motiva Port Arthur, Valero, Flint Hills, Total, DuPont and Huntsman.
