Two children are without their mother after police say their father shot her multiple times in the 15600 block of Heckaman Loop in Hamshire.

According to a press release, at approximately 10:44 a.m., a man advised police his next-door neighbor had just come to the front door and admitted to shooting his girlfriend.

Savoy’s family is overcome with emotion after his killer is sentenced.

A woman accused of brutally killing a Beaumont man and then setting his body ablaze pleaded guilty to murder Monday, May 21.

Deanna Edwards Wilson, 41, was indicted for the murder of Elkin Savoy, 58, whose body was found Monday, Nov. 14, 2011, burned and maimed as a result of an apparent homicide.

According to an autopsy report, Savoy’s cause of death was blunt force trauma to the skull along with at least 15 stab wounds to the man’s head and face.


A counselor manning the Spindletop Center crisis hotline listened as Hollie Arredondo told him her son was trying to kick in the door of her Nederland apartment. Then, after a crash the counselor thought to be the door finally giving way, the connection was abruptly severed.

If only solving murders was as easy as they make it look on television.

The Beaumont and Port Arthur Police Departments are currently working two murder investigations that have detectives beating the streets and looking for leads wherever they can find them.


According to information from the Orange Police Department, on Wednesday, April 6, an arrest warrant was obtained for the suspect in the April 5 attempted murder case of 51-year-old Sylvia Vaughns.

Vaughns, who was transported to UTMB in Galveston by helicopter due to the severity of her injuries, was still recovering in the island hospital at press time and investigators say they are searching for the victim’s grandson as the aggressor responsible for her life threatening injuries.
