As an adult she and her husband Ken lived in Colorado, Arizona, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas, yet she continued to a hold a special love for California. She had especially fond memories of Sundays at the beach with her parents and sisters Charlene and Jenna as well as summer adventures with the family camper in tow.

Frances Tortorice Coco

Frances Tortorice Coco of Beaumont died peacefully on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at the age of 90. The youngest daughter of Sam and Rosa Tortorice, she was born on Aug. 19, 1927, in Beaumont.

She is survived by her son, Rusty Coco, and daughter, Marian Broussard and her husband, Pat, all of Beaumont; seven grandchildren; as well as seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Coco is preceded in death by her husband, Vincent James "V.J." Coco; her parents, Sam and Rosa Tortorice; her brothers Johnny, Vic, Jake and Joe Tortorice Sr.; and her sister, Mary Tortorice Sanderson.

At approximately 4 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) responded to an auto-pedestrian crash on Highway 62 in Orange County. The crash occurred near Daily Road.

Initial reports indicate that a Toyota Tundra pickup truck was traveling southbound on Highway 62. A pedestrian was walking southbound near the roadway when he was struck by the pickup truck.

C.L “Sonny” Sherman, a loving, generous husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, businessman and active member of the Beaumont community, passed away April 10, 2018, surrounded by close friends and family.

Sonny was born Sept. 10, 1931, to Chester L. Sherman Sr. and Lucy Bienvenu Sherman. He was the middle of three children, his sister Gloria being the oldest and brother Wayne the youngest.

Visitation is noon – 5 p.m. Tuesday at Mercy Funeral Home, and from 9 a.m. until time of the service at the church on Wednesday. Donna Elise Wilsker, RN, MSN, aged 67, passed away in Beaumont on Friday, Dec. 1, 2017.  At the time of her passing, she was surrounded by beloved family and friends.  Up until her death, Donna was an Associate Professor of Nursing at Lamar University, where she served for nearly 40 years.
