Erin Higgins Watson was born in Austin, Texas, on January 24, 1938, to C.L. “Ox” Higgins and Ezma Taylor Higgins.

Robert W. Brown

Robert W. Brown, 57, of Beaumont passed away Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, at Scott Olive Baptist Church with burial at Magnolia Cemetery under the direction of Mercy Funeral Home. Visitation is noon – 5 p.m. Tuesday at Mercy Funeral Home, and from 9 a.m. until time of the service at the church on Wednesday. His love and memories will remain in the hearts of his wife, Ann Young Brown; three sons: Robert C.


Donna Elise Wilsker, RN, MSN, aged 67, passed away in Beaumont on Friday, Dec. 1, 2017.  At the time of her passing, she was surrounded by beloved family and friends.  Up until her death, Donna was an Associate Professor of Nursing at Lamar University, where she served for nearly 40 years.

Ky Lynn Brown

Ky Lynn Brown, 55, of Kountze, died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017, at Christus Hospital-St. Elizabeth, Beaumont.

Ky Brown was a lieutenant with the Beaumont Police Department. A32-year veteran of BPD serving on 3rd Watch Patrol, he was recently diagnosed with stomach cancer.

Laura Laverna Stuermer

Laura Laverna Stuermer, 80, died July 28, 2017, following an extended illness.

Born Laura Laverna Lambert, she was the daughter of the Walter and Velma Lambert of Nederland, both deceased. A 1954 graduate of Nederland High School, she obtained a degree in pharmacy from University of Houston.

Therese Shearer

Therese Shearer, 43, of Beaumont died peacefully in her sleep July 30, 2017.

Therese was born July 30, 1974, to Rebecca Lynn Rabb and Smiley Shearer. She attended St. Anne Catholic School, Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School and Central Senior High before attending Lamar Institute of Technology, where she studied instrumentation technology.

Thomas A. Boudreaux

Thomas A. Boudreaux died July 12, 2017.

He was a member of Sabine Tabernacle for 87 years and leader of the Young Couples League for nearly 40 of them.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid bird watcher. The only thing he loved more than watching the Dallas Cowboys were his daily walks with his prized Labradoodle, Molly.

James “Jimmy” Scales

Bridge City Municipal Judge James “Jimmy” Scales, 65, died July 8, 2017, when his riding lawnmower rolled over on him as he was mowing a ditch in Bridge City.


Larry Dale Allen Sr., 62, formerly of Lumberton, died July 7, 2017.  

Born in Beaumont on May 6, 1955, Larry is the son of J.D. Allen Sr. and Adelle Thompson Allen of Lumberton. 

He is preceded in death by his wife, Lisa Allen, and son Chase Douglas Allen.

Mary Anne Stedman Howell

Mary Anne Stedman Howell, 97, passed away peacefully Monday, June 5, 2017, in the serenity of her home, leaving behind her loving family who adored her so.
