The Silsbee High School’s robotics team, GOLD!, competed in the Pasadena ISD VEX In the Zone tournament at the Lewis Career and Technical High School and emerged as tournament champions from a field of forty teams on Saturday, Dec. 9, the district announced in a statement.

The win advances the team to the VEX Robotics state championship tournament in February, Silsbee ISD spokesperson Daniel Elizondo said.

Students at Silsbee High School wore purple Tuesday, Oct. 3 to mark what would have been Tristan Dilley’s 15th birthday, Assistant Principal David Biddle confirmed.

Dilley's death was discovered Sunday, Oct. 1, amid mysterious circumstances.

On Sunday, August 6, at 2:00 p.m., services for Silsbee Assistant Fire Chief Jay Hinkie were held at Silsbee High School. The burial followed at R.S. Farmer Memorial Park on 3rd Street.

It’s a weekend full of fine arts events from Lamar University beginning with the Concert Band & Wind Ensemble Concert on Friday, April 21, at Silsbee High School (1575 Highway 96 N.) at 7:30 p.m.

The Mary Morgan Moore Department of Music will present the Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Scott Deppe, director of bands, and Concert Band, under the direction of Eric Shannon, director of athletic bands, in a combined concert. This is the final band concert for Deppe, who will retire this summer.
